Educational Services

At various times during the year we offer classes in topics such as Anger Management, A Mindfulness Training, Effective Parenting, and Parenting after divorce.

For hundreds of people struggling with mental illness, a downtown San Jose center has been their lifeline for decades, thanks to this week’s Jefferson Award winner.

Carol Larson sat comfortably on a couch, surrounded by friends. She has struggled with schizophrenia, but she’s found a special place in a social club for recovering mental health patients.  “I feel like I belong,” she said simply.

On May 31, a group of staff and volunteers from ACT for Mental Health participated in the 2014 Bay Area NAMIWalk.  With community support, the ACTNow Walkers were able to raise more than $1,000 in donations for this year's event.  The money will be used to help the National Alliance of Mental Illness advocate for greater mental health services and fight against the stigma associated with mental illness.
